Terms of Service

Last updated:

Welcome to Outpost. These terms set out the agreement between you and Outpost Limited regarding your use of our website, applications, and services. Please read them carefully — by using Outpost you agree to be bound by them.

1Who we are

Outpost is a property intelligence platform operated by Outpost Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”), a company registered in the United Kingdom. Our services help international property buyers understand fair pricing, true acquisition costs, and country-specific legal risks for properties in the United Kingdom, France, Portugal, and Spain.

You can reach us at hello@outpost.tools for general questions or legal@outpost.tools for legal queries.

2Acceptance of these terms

By accessing, browsing, or otherwise using Outpost — whether as a guest, registered user, or paid subscriber — you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the service.

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced via email or a prominent notice on the site at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after that period constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

3What Outpost does (and does not) provide

Outpost aggregates public property transaction data, regulatory information, and tax rules to produce automated analytical reports. Our reports include:

  • Comparable sales analysis based on registered transactions
  • Total acquisition cost calculations for foreign buyers
  • Country-specific legal context and risk notes
  • AI-generated commentary on market positioning
Outpost is an analytical tool, not a regulated advisor. We do not provide legal advice, tax advice, financial advice, mortgage broking, real estate agency services, or property valuation as a chartered surveyor. See our Legal Disclaimer for the full scope of our limitations.

4Your account and eligibility

To access certain features you may need to create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current information when registering
  • Keep your credentials confidential and secure
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account
  • Be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering binding contracts

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms.

5Dossiers, subscriptions and refunds

Outpost is sold in two formats:

  • Per-property dossiers (Quick Check, Standard, Premium) — one-time fees per analysed address, processed through Stripe at checkout. Quick Check is free; Standard and Premium are paid one-off purchases.
  • Professional subscription — monthly recurring plan for agents, advisors, and family offices, billed in advance. You may cancel any time from your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

14-day refund window: EU and UK consumers benefit from a statutory right of withdrawal under Article 9 of the Consumer Rights Directive. You may request a full refund within 14 days of any first paid purchase by emailing billing@outpost.tools.

Premium Dossier risk-reversal: if a material risk we should have flagged surfaces after you have completed a property purchase, we will refund the dossier fee in full. Eligibility requires good-faith due diligence on your part and documentation of the issue.

6Acceptable use

You agree to use Outpost only for lawful purposes and in accordance with our Acceptable Use Policy. In particular, you agree not to:

  • Scrape, harvest, or systematically copy our data using automated tools
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract our source code or models
  • Resell, sublicence, or commercially redistribute our reports without a written licence
  • Use the service to defraud, deceive, or harm any third party
  • Interfere with the integrity, security, or performance of the service

7Intellectual property

All content on Outpost — including our software, design, methodology, reports, copywriting, and branding — is owned by Outpost Limited or our licensors and protected by international copyright, trademark, and trade secret laws.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the service for your personal or internal business purposes. Property transaction data sourced from public registries (HM Land Registry, DVF, etc.) remains subject to the original licence terms of those sources.

8Third-party data and links

Our reports incorporate data from third-party sources including HM Land Registry, the French DVF dataset, INE Portugal, Catastro Spain, OpenStreetMap, and Google’s Gemini AI service. We accept no responsibility for the accuracy, completeness, or availability of third-party data.

Links to third-party websites are provided for convenience only and do not constitute endorsement.

9Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Outpost Limited shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to lost profits, lost opportunities, lost data, or losses arising from property transactions.

Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising under or in connection with these terms shall not exceed the greater of (a) the fees you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) £100.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

10Termination

You may stop using Outpost at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these terms, if we suspect fraudulent or harmful conduct, or if required by law. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including IP, liability, and governing law — will continue to apply.

11Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes arising from them, except that consumers may also bring proceedings in the courts of their country of residence as permitted by EU consumer law.

Before commencing legal proceedings, we encourage you to contact us at legal@outpost.tools so we can attempt to resolve the matter amicably.
